It is no secret that I LOVE cookies! If I could only choose one dessert to eat for the rest of my life, it would be cookies….or maybe froyo? NO definitely cookies!! So when the awesome people at Quest Nutrition sent me their new protein cookies, I was thrilled!! I was so dang excited when I opened the box and saw all of the flavors. There are 4 flavors of protein cookies: Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Double Chocolate and Oatmeal Raisin. I knew I just had to try them all but they wouldn’t ALL fit in my macros in one day so over the course of 4 days, I had them all 😉
Taste and Texture
For being protein cookies, they are SO delicious! The texture was as good as a homemade cookie and they are BIG!
Chocolate Chip- This one was good but it wasn’t actually my favorite of the four. Keep reading to find out which one was 🙂 This was the first one I tried and I was really impressed. The consistency is that of a normal cookie and the taste was great!
Peanut Butter- I have heard a lot of people rave about this one, but honestly, it was my least favorite. It didn’t have a great after taste to me. I am normally a peanut butter cookie fan but this one I probably wouldn’t buy again. You should still try it though, because I’ve heard enough people say how much they love it that it’s probably just a personal preference.
Double Chocolate- I have to say that this one was probably my favorite. I love chocolate but I am actually surprised that I liked this one more than the chocolate chip. It didn’t taste like a protein cookie at all. It was SOOOO amazing…..Ok, maybe I’ll go have one right now!
Oatmeal Raisin- I am am actually one of those people who likes raisins, so I was excited about this. It was really good! I heated this one up in the microwave and it made the consistency perfect, like a cookie fresh out of the oven.
Now here is where I struggle. They passed the taste test, BUT the macros are really high. I am on really high calories right now, so I can justify one and they’re actually really great if I have a lot of macros left and need a good filler. But if I were on cutting calories, no way would I be able to justify one of these. Sorry Quest! I love ya but it’s true!
14-17 grams of fat for one of these is A LOT! For that amount of calories, I would rather have homemade chocolate chip cookie and a yogurt for basically the same macros.
I love pretty much every Quest product and I do think these are great if you’re not on low calories. So give these protein cookies a try and let me know what you think!
